Consumer Behavior

Social Peer Research
Find a friend and have them go onto a website they regularly buy from. First, does the store have a physical location? Does the website reflect the physical store’s layout? Where does your shopper go first when they enter the website? Second? What do they consider purchasing? Is it a necessity or luxury purchase? Is the product on sale? Do the products have things in common (ex: winter coat, gloves and boots)? Where does the shopper begin their shopping experience? How many items did they consider purchasing? How many items did they purchase? Did the shopper select items that were on sale? Was the shopper enjoying their shopping experience?

Did the shopper’s behavior reflect the four stages of the consumer decision-making process?

Provide any additional insights that you think were significant in your research? Did the consumer negatively respond if they found a product that they wanted but couldn’t get for some reason? Did they “cut their losses” or did they compensate by purchasing something else?
